Visa Extension

How to extend your stay in Bali legally and easily

Overview

If you’ve fallen in love with Bali and want to stay longer, extending your visa is possible — but it requires planning. This guide explains how to extend your Visa on Arrival or tourist visa without stress.

Who Can Extend

Most travelers entering Bali on a Visa on Arrival (VoA) or B211A tourist visa are eligible for one or more extensions. VoA can be extended once, while B211A can be extended monthly up to 180 days.

Where to Extend

Visa extensions must be processed at an immigration office in Bali. Popular offices include:

  • Denpasar Immigration Office
  • Jimbaran Immigration Office
  • Singaraja Immigration Office (North Bali)

Required Documents

You’ll typically need:

  • Your passport (with valid visa)
  • Completed extension form
  • Proof of onward travel
  • Local sponsor (for some visa types)
  • Payment of extension fee (usually around IDR 500,000)

Timeline & Tips

Start the extension process at least 7 days before your visa expires. Processing takes 3–7 business days. Consider using a visa agent if you want help navigating the paperwork.

Avoiding Overstay

Overstaying your visa can result in fines of IDR 1,000,000 per day and possible deportation. Always track your visa dates and start extensions early.
