Visa on Arrival

Everything you need to know about Bali’s Visa on Arrival

Overview

The Visa on Arrival (VoA) is the most popular option for short-term travelers visiting Bali. It allows eligible visitors to enter Indonesia for tourism, family visits, or other non-business purposes.

Eligibility

Citizens of over 80 countries are eligible for VoA, including Australia, the United States, Canada, the UK, and most EU nations. Check your country’s eligibility before traveling.

How to Apply

The VoA is issued upon arrival at Ngurah Rai International Airport and other major entry points. You’ll need:

  • A passport valid for at least 6 months
  • A return or onward ticket
  • Payment of the visa fee (usually around USD $35)

Duration & Extension

The VoA is valid for 30 days and can be extended once for another 30 days. Extensions must be processed at an immigration office in Bali before the initial visa expires. → Learn about Visa Extensions

Important Notes

  • Overstaying your visa can result in fines or deportation
  • VoA cannot be converted to a long-stay visa
  • Business activities are not permitted under VoA
