Bali Airport Terminals

Understand Bali Airport's domestic and international terminals
Ngurah Rai International Airport terminal area

Overview

Ngurah Rai International Airport has two main terminals: the Domestic Terminal for flights within Indonesia, and the International Terminal for overseas departures and arrivals. Knowing which terminal you need helps you plan check-in, security, transport, and arrival logistics.

Domestic Terminal

The Domestic Terminal handles flights to destinations such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Lombok, and other Indonesian cities. Expect simpler immigration procedures and a more compact layout.

  • Check-in counters for domestic carriers
  • Security screening before the gate area
  • Local cafes, convenience stores, and duty-free snacks
  • Pick-up and drop-off zones for taxis, shuttles, and ride apps

International Terminal

The International Terminal serves flights to Australia, Asia, the Middle East, and beyond. It includes immigration checkpoints, customs, lounges, and more shopping and dining options.

  • Immigration and passport control for arrival and departure
  • International airline check-in desks and gates
  • Restaurants, duty-free shops, and travel services
  • Dedicated international arrivals hall with baggage claim

Quick terminal decision

If your ticket shows a domestic flight within Indonesia, use the Domestic Terminal. For flights arriving from or departing to overseas destinations, use the International Terminal. When in doubt, follow airline instructions or ask airport staff.

What to do before you get to the airport

  • Confirm your terminal on your ticket or airline website.
  • Allow extra time for international flights because of immigration and security.
  • If you need a visa, complete the All Indonesia Arrival Card before arrival.
  • Plan your transport with the correct terminal pick-up/drop-off zone.

Terminal navigation tips

Bali Airport has clear signage, but knowing a few terminal details in advance makes travel smoother. Domestic travellers usually find faster security lines, while international travellers should leave extra time for passport control and customs.

Both terminals offer food, drinks, and basic retail. The International Terminal has more duty-free options, while the Domestic Terminal is more compact and easier to move through if you have less time.

Arrival details

Arrivals at the Domestic Terminal bring you straight into the arrivals hall with easy access to taxis and hotel transport. International arrivals must pass immigration, collect baggage, and then clear customs before reaching the arrivals area.

For live updates, check Arrivals.

Departure details

Departing from the Domestic Terminal usually means quicker check-in and boarding. For international departures, allow more time for passport control, security, and duty-free shopping.

See Departures for departure boards and live flight information.

Getting between terminals

While Bali Airport’s two terminals are close, there is no public shuttle service inside the airport complex. If you need to transfer, ask airport staff about the best route or use a taxi/ride app to move between terminals quickly.
