Getting to Tanah Lot Temple

How to reach Bali's iconic sea temple

Tanah Lot Temple is located at Jl. Kecak, Kutoarjo, Pengansa, Kediri, Tabanan Regency, Bali 82133 — approximately 20km west of Denpasar and 50km from Ngurah Rai International Airport. The easiest way to get there is by private car or scooter.

🚗 By Car or Scooter (Recommended)

Most visitors rent a car with driver (IDR 500,000–700,000/day) or a scooter (IDR 60,000–80,000/day). The drive from central Bali takes about 45–60 minutes depending on traffic. From Seminyak or Canggu, the drive is 20–30 minutes.

Parking is available at the temple complex — free for motorbikes, IDR 10,000 for cars.

🚕 By Taxi or Ride-Hailing

Grab and Gojek operate in the area. From Seminyak or Canggu, a ride-hailing trip costs approximately IDR 100,000–150,000. From downtown Denpasar, expect to pay IDR 200,000–250,000.

🚌 By Public Transport

Limited public transport options exist. The most practical option is to take a bemo (minibus) from Denpasar or Kuta to Tabanan, then a short taxi ride to the temple.

🗺️ Getting There Map

Use "Tanah Lot Temple" as your destination in Google Maps or Waze. The parking lot is well-signed from the main road.

Pro tip: Many tour operators offer day trips from Seminyak, Canggu, or Ubud that include Tanah Lot. These are convenient if you don't want to navigate on your own and want a guided experience.
