Getting to Tegallalang Rice Terraces

How to reach Bali's iconic rice terraces

Tegallalang Rice Terraces are located approximately 10km north of Ubud in central Bali, about a 25-minute drive. The easiest way to get there is by private car or scooter from Ubud.

🚗 By Car or Scooter (Recommended)

Most visitors rent a scooter (IDR 60,000–80,000/day) or hire a car with driver (IDR 500,000–700,000/day). From Ubud, follow Jalan Raya Tegallalang north for about 25 minutes. The road is well-signed and easy to navigate.

Parking is available at multiple points along the main road — free for motorbikes, IDR 10,000 for cars.

🚕 By Taxi or Ride-Hailing

Grab and Gojek operate in the area. From Ubud, a ride-hailing trip costs approximately IDR 50,000–80,000. From Canggu or Seminyak, expect to pay IDR 150,000–200,000.

🚌 By Public Transport

Limited public transport options exist. The most practical option is to take a bemo (minibus) from Ubud to Tegallalang, then a short walk to the terraces.
